| August 7 Just found this website and I'd like to offer a suggestion. For the soundoff page, instead of pasting emails that you receive, why not sign up for a free hosted forum? That way people can sign up and post whatever they like, whenever they like, and make things much easier for the webmaster. LS _______________________________________________________________________ LAO....Yes, I have personally visited them on many occasions and I am also a representative of The Inter-Community Civic Association. I have gotten no cooperation from any of the business owners and in most cases they don't even want to discuss community issues. We do our best to promote local businesses and would never call for boycott if it were not justified. Thank you for your inquiry _______________________________________________________________________ Has anyone ever tried to make the Korean owners aware that they're not giving back to the community? LL _______________________________________________________________________ July 11 Thanks for caring about this community, the Koreans only want to take our money!!! AR _______________________________________________________________________ July 8 It's about time someone took action against the Korean merchants, all they do is take our money year after year. Thank you LAO and I will spread the word. RP _______________________________________________________________________ June 23 LAO...The Inter-Community Civic would like to hear from you if you own a business, or if you feel you are not being treated fairly by the 106 PCT please email info@libertyavenueonline.com and we will forward it to the Inter-Community Civic. They are trying to open up dialog with the 106 to address this problem. Thank You. _______________________________________________________________________ June 21 Herman Singh has nothing better to do then start a website and slander other members of our community with personal attacks. Shame on you Herman! ES _______________________________________________________________________ June 20 Thats the problem with this community, instead of sticking together we fight amongst ourselves. AA _______________________________________________________________________ June 19 That website is garbage, all they do is talk lies about members of our community. They are a disgrace to Richmond Hill! DP _______________________________________________________________________ Over the past year, members our community (George Sub raj, Frank Singh, Reggie Rawana, Ram Jodha, Jas Persaud, Stanley Raj, Kawal Totaram and many more) has been attacked and scandalized on this GuyanaNY website owned by Herman Singh. The community needs to be aware that all of the information published on that website are LIES . There is not an ounce of truth to any of the discussions taking place. As far as I can tell, it would appear as though the individuals writing the negative comments are just deflecting their behavior onto others because they are not respected members of the community. They are unscrupulous and corrupted. Herman Singh is lashing out at individuals because he has lost his popularity. He is accusing others of losing their Real Estate Licenses, which again is not true. He needs to take a look at himself in the mirror because - guess what he is not licensed. This is just the chip off the iceberg, more to come. I just felt that the nonsense has to stop and people need to be aware of their surroundings. VR June 15 LAO....Happy Father's Day To All _______________________________________________________________________ June 10 LAO,,,,,Attended the 106 Community Civic meeting, rash of livery cab drivers robberies between Rockaway and 111 Ave and Lefferts and the Van Wyke. Shooting in the area are also up from last year with 13 shootings reported. The police are also confiscating audio equipment if anyone is playing music too loud. They will also confiscate any firework this 4TH of July. _______________________________________________________________________ June 3 Two men were shot on 84 street on Ozone Park last night.RP _______________________________________________________________________ On Wednesday, June 4th (9:30am-12:30pm) the Dept of Sanitation will be holding a hearing on its proposed regulations for implementing the just-passed Litter Law ---"governing the distribution of advertisements on private property." (State mandated penalty for such littering: $250 up to $1,000.) The rules for implementation of the Litter Law, as proposed by Dept of Sanitation (5 pages, click below -- and available on the DOS web site at nyc.gov) -- and to be commented on at or before the Public Hearing on June 4th -- are absolutely asinine. They impose a severe burden on the property owner and are most likely never to be pursued by most homeowners!!. They would require the homeowner to download a complaint affidavit form or to call 311 for one [no problem]. The homeowner would then have to get the form notarized and mail it together with the literature deposited to DOS in Brooklyn, and then be available to attend a hearing, presumably in Manhattan, if the adjudicating officer asks him to appear and testify. Notarizing, with its costs and inconvenience, should be eliminated; the homeowner's identity can be confirmed by providing a copy of a recent tax bill or by having DOS refer to the Dept of Finance web site. How many homeowners will want to get involved if they face an appearance at a hearing in Manhattan, or elsewhere???? The law only authorizes DOS enforcement people to issue tickets when they witness the littering; the NYPD should be authorized to do so as well. To facilitate such advertising distribution, perhaps the distributing agency could provide a "mailbox" designated for such a purpose to willing homeowners, similar to what newspaper home delivery people do. Please react in the community's favor _______________________________________________________________________ May 31 Big fire on Jamaica Ave last night. What is important is the fact that the people of California voted to ban gay marriage and 7 supreme court judges totally disregarded the will of the people and imposed their own beliefs on the entire state.
